Grant funding can be applied for a variety of uses - from hosting special workshops to beefing up current offerings

Need funds for arts-related project support for your nonprofit organization? Now through April 26 is your chance to apply for a 2025 Arts Council of Hillsborough County Community Arts Impact Grant (CAIG).

The CAIG program provides up to $5,000 to groups to make arts and cultural opportunities more accessible for underserved populations across Hillsborough County, including support of geographic, ethnic, and age diversity, as well as programs that serve veterans and people with disabilities. Additionally, this grant program is meant to provide nimble/flexible funding while serving as a "training opportunity" for small, community-based organizations that are new to grant writing and/or seeking support from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.

A separate division of this grant, the Community Arts Impact Grant-Colleges/Universities (CAIG/CU) is a competitive arts funding opportunity of up to $12,500 for colleges and universities whose administrative headquarters are located within Hillsborough County.

CAIG recipient Firehouse Cultural Center utilizes the funding to host a multi-week "Clay Warriors" pottery workshop for veterans. The class focuses on learning techniques to create hand-thrown pottery pieces, as well as instruction on working with potter's wheels, and is offered free of charge. The program provides veterans with a creative outlet while connecting them with others from similar military experiences and backgrounds. Interested nonprofit organizations can apply online by 5 p.m. Friday, April 26. Applications will be scored on June 4. To learn more about these grant opportunities, including scoring guidelines and important dates, visit hillsborougharts.org.
